Natural Toothpaste Recipe

1/4 cup calcium carbonate powder
1/4 cup sodium bicarbonate powder (baking soda)
1/8 cup (2 TBS) salt (for this purpose use plain iodized salt)
1/8 cup vegetable glycerin (optional sweetener, add more or less to taste)
1/8 cup hydrogen peroxide
Peppermint, spearmint, cassia or other steam distilled essential oil if desired for flavor

Mix all ingredients well in a bowl and dispense to squeeze bottles. Now brand calcium carbonate powder is available from iHerb and it is inexpensive. Vegetable glycerin and essential oils are available from Essential Wholesale. This recipe can handle up to 10 drops of essential oil flavoring, but to be cautious, start with 4 drops and work up if the taste is not strong enough.
