Tooth and Gum Irrigant

Description:  Antiseptic “waterpick” additive or mouthwash concentrate helps heal even severe tooth and gum problems.  Similar to Under The Gum ® irrigant  but at a fraction of the price, and available without a prescription.  It works much better and the action is much deeper when used in a home oral irrigation device such as a Hydro-Floss, Via-jet, or WaterPik, but it can also be mixed in water to make a healing mouthwash.

Tooth and Gum Irrigant contains the following:  Extracts of gotu kola, echinacea angustofolia root, echinacea purpurea root, white willow, calendula, and yarrow; vegetable glycerine, xylitol; peppermint, eucalyptus, clove, cinnamon leaf, red thyme, sweet birch, and sage oils; sodium ascorbate, mixed tocopherols.  30% alcohol.

Note that the alkaloids in Tooth and Gum Irrigant herbs continue to react to form a small amount of carbon dioxide after it is bottled.  This is good since it displaces oxygen and greatly extends storage life, but it may make a small “pfft” sound when the bottle is first open or after sitting a long period.

Directions:  Shake well each use.  Mix a teaspoon (to as much as 2 tsp) in 8 oz of water in water pick reservoir.  Use pick as recommended by manufacturer.  Or, mix ¼ to ½ teaspoon in an ounce or two of water to make mouth rinse.  It is too strong to use undiluted.  For irrigation with a water pick the lowest setting should be used at first (1 out of 10), building up to a still-low level if needed (2 to 4 out of 10).  No special irrigator tips should be used since they can make gum pockets worse if used with too much water force.

There are 24 teaspoon servings per 4 oz bottle.
