Salve Z

Description: Escherotic salve for skin cancer lesions and also warts, moles, skin tags, and other viral skin growths. Salve Z comes in a small, ½ oz canister but this is enough for 20 to 40 dime-sized lesions.

Ingredients: Zinc chloride, bloodroot and chaparral extracts; DMSO, arrowroot, kaolin (china clay).

Directions: Read all directions before application! Not for internal use. Apply layer of Salve Z to lesion, avoiding healthy skin. Cover with bandage for 24 hours. If the lesion is cancerous, a scab (also known as an eschar or escherot) will form within 24 hours. Carefully remove bandage to avoid pulling scab. Try to keep dry as well as possible. Do not pick at it! Best results and fastest healing are attained when the healthy skin which forms below ejects the eschar. Most eschars will emit pus and blood from around the edges and this is normal. Keep a bandage or gauze over it to absorb seepage and change bandage as often as necessary. Eschars can be over twice the size of the original lesion. After the eschar is ejected and underlying skin is healed over, apply aloe juice, emu oil, mixed tocopherols, or other topical to aid skin healing and help prevent scarring (best is Electroherbalism’s Ultra Hand and Body Oil, which is emu and calendula oils).

Pictures of a cancerous skin lesion being treated with an escherotic salve are shown in the Skin Cancer regimen at the bottom of the page. It is highly recommended to view these pictures to know what to expect and to decide if this is the correct route to address the problem.

Do NOT re-apply Salve Z until the eschar has been ejected and the underlying skin healed over and a re-evaluation is done to ensure that another application is needed. Usually, only one is necessary. Do NOT attempt to treat tumors beneath the skin with escherotic salves as is sometimes attempted for breast cancer. Escherotic salves target only cancerous cells but can still leave a sizeable cavitation when the eschar is ejected depending on the depth of the cancer. Although this cavitation will be less in size than that created by surgery since there are no “margins”, and cavitations created by escherotic salves are less likely to leave a scar, do not use an escherotic if this is not acceptable.

Pain may occur when the eschar forms and as it heals. Be prepared for this!. Before application of Salve Z, have on hand anti-inflammatories to control pain including an OTC pain reliever like ibuprofen and a good enzyme product like non-acidic bromelain or pancreatin capsules. Use the ibuprofen according to package directions but use enzymes in high dose, 3 or more capsules at a time as often as is necessary to control pain, as much as once per hour. For lesions larger than a dime an MD should be consulted since a pain reliever of prescription strength may be necessary. A good method to use for large lesions is to apply to only one quarter of the lesion at one time. After the eschar is formed and any pain abated, do the next quadrant, and so on until complete. If the eschar is ejected before the skin underneath has had a chance to form, keep covered with gauze until it is healed. Keep it clean and dry, and do not apply anything to it until it has skinned over. There have been no reported infections nor metastasis from the use of escherotic salves.

Salve Z is also good for skin tags, moles, and warts, although results take longer. For this use repeated reapplication may be necessary. Apply a very thin layer and cover with bandage. Leave bandage on for one to two days if possible - it is okay if it gets wet. Every two days or whenever bandage is falling off or dirty, remove, wash area with cloth to remove dead skin, reapply a very thin layer of salve and cover with new bandage.

Pictures from silvermedicine.org showing stages of treatment with Cansema type salves. They recommend using clay poultices to speed healing once the eschar is ejected and the skin starts to heal over, although Electroherbalism asserts that aloe juice is probably more effective. Once the eschar is completely healed, emu oil is probably the best topical to prevent long term scarring.

Skin cancer initially. Note that the lesion on the surface is often the "tip of the iceberg" and that the cancer may be much deeper and wider than it appears.
An eschar forms within 24 hours after application of Cansema. Here it is a few days later when it is halfway ejected. At this stage it is important NOT to pick at it. It should be ejected on its own by the skin forming underneath!
Once the eschar is ejected it can leave a sizeable cavitation. Note that while healthy skin or tissue may be irritated, it is not harmed when using Cansema, only the cancer itself.
The ejected eschar.
A month after ejection, the area is mostly healed over but is still raw. Silvermedicine.org recommends using clay poultices to speed the process, although Electroherbalism thinks that pure aloe juice may be more effective since the components of aloe speed skin granulation better than most healing agents.
Nine months after treatment, the area is still noticeable and a scar may very well be visible. Again, Electroherbalism recommends using aloe juice, which also decreases the chances of scarring although at the stage shown at left, emu oil would likely be better than aloe juice to heal this type of scarring.
